About Us
The Calgary Youth Curling Association (CYCA) has been a volunteer-driven not-for profit society operating in Calgary and the surrounding area since 1991.
Central to our mission is providing positive, inclusive and empowering experiences for youth to learn and meaningfully participate in the sport of curling. Through engagement in CYCA programs and events the CYCA hopes to introduce youth to a sport that they can enjoy for life.
When one joins curling they become a member of an awesome and accepting community that has sportsmanship, teamwork and passion inherently embedded within every bonspiel, league and rock.
Signature CYCA Programs + Events
CYCA's weekly Sunday League plays at curling centres across Calgary and the surrounding region. This development focused league is for curlers aged 9-19 who want to gain more on-ice experience before entering into competition or for curlers who prefer to play for fun.
An annual bonspiel - dedicated to honouring the memory of Ray Kingsmith - which awards thousands of dollars worth of scholarships each year to deserving and talented youth curlers.
Where junior curlers go to meet new friends and get back on the curling ice at the start of every amazing curling season.
The CYCA Jam Can is an encouraging and empowering first bonspiel experience for recreational curlers aged 7-12. Games are short and awesome memories for all are guaranteed.
CYCA's Friends + Family Funspiel provides a fantastic opportunity for spectators to join in on the curling action. Laughs, friendly competition and quality time together on the curling ice with all skill levels and complete beginners welcome!
